I've searched for ways on how to control my dog's barking and I've seen an info about e-collar
claiming that it can help with the dog's barking.

My concern is is this advisable or is it even safe for my dog?

Thanks

I prefer training the dog without these dog collars.. it works but i don't advice the use of it.

Think of having a collar yourself that will give out some signal when a button is pressed.

it could be harmful to your dog..

There are a lot of ways to train your dog. For me using an e-collar is barbaric. Search the net for more effective ways to train your dog that won't harm them.

Good luck in training your dog.

Alice is right. It's very harmful for your dog to use an e-collar. It would only hurt them and it wouldn't be an accessory that they would be loving to wear. Try finding different training methods for your dog. It's a waste of money too!

One of the most common reasons for a pet to wear an e-collar is because he or she is recovering from surgery. Many animals bite or lick at their surgery sites, potentially causing an infection or tearing stitches out. The e-collar prevents this behavior, promoting a rapid and healthy recovery. It is especially important in the case of an animal with stitches, since torn stitches can be difficult to repair.

Some veterinarians also use an e-collar in the treatment of dermatitis and hot spots on the skin. Severe dermatitis can be accompanied with extreme pain and itching, and many animals instinctively bite or snap at the area in the hopes of getting rid of the pain. This can cause the condition to get worse, and it is also possible for an animal to injure itself very severely.

Some see that this is helpful, but if your dog doesn't need to recover from any condition as I stated earlier settle for a more convenient way to train your dog. You don't really need an e-collar.

here is a video clip by national geography on how to use your e-collar properly http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/videos/feeds/cv-seo/Dog-Whisperer/All-Videos/Cesar-Explains-the-Electronic-Dog-Collar see it for yourself and by then you will know what to do.

Always put in mind that your dos safety should be the first priority.
